This Alabama wedding was such a treat to be a part of. We loved helping this sweet and so creative bride with wedding planning , design and wedding flowers. Set on a gorgeous private estate, on a beautiful October day, we had so much fun foraging the fall leaves and greenery used in the brides bouquets, table garlands and ceremony. There is nothing more classic than an at home ceremony and reception- the traditional Alabama wedding with a focus on family, food and friends- even furry friends. Brittany Sturdivant of Love Be Photography captured this day perfectly.
I was so thrilled to provide the lush, moody floral bouquet requested for this beautiful fine art editorial planned by amazingly talented photographer Jenny Haas. The setting was Swannanoa Mansion, a beautiful historic Italianate mansion and grounds , the definition of old world garden style romance - I mean the front doors alone are to die for ...and the entire house is white marble. So, Jenny's vision for a moody, wine colored bouquet was perfection. Foraged blush tone pee gee hydrangea, lorapetalum, trailing smilax , abelia , pink Ohara garden roses flowed out of what I call a cradle bouquet- you need 2 arms to cradle it. Add gold and mauve streaming Cocoon silk ribbons, a drop dead gorgeous Clair Pettibone floral gown, flowing veil , the most angelic barefoot blonde and I am dying over the images. It just doesnt get any better...unless I get to recreate this bouquet for a wedding...and she goes barefoot.
